Our commitment to cultivating under the best environmental conditions doesn’t stop at the harvest season. Every action counts, and here are a few examples that illustrate our determination to make responsible choices and maintain the balance between the planet and its inhabitants.
We proudly prioritize local partners. Just as you choose to consume our products, we choose local partners. It’s about our values, particularly authenticity; we are true to ourselves, and our choices reflect that.
Our tomatoes are meticulously grown and handled, so when it comes time to transport them from our greenhouses to your grocery stores, we’ve chosen packaging that reflects who we are, because we always choose the best.
Our box is made in Quebec from 80% recycled cardboard, and the inks used are biodegradable to facilitate composting. This packaging meets FSC® and SFI eco-friendly standards, is certified for sustainable forestry practices, and is produced in Quebec.
Speaking of composting, we practise it for several reasons. It helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills, which decreases methane production, a powerful greenhouse gas emitted by the decomposition of organic matter. It improves soil quality and enriches it with essential nutrients. It helps increase soil fertility and water retention, which benefits plants and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers. It conserves natural resources and avoids energy-intensive and often polluting production processes.It’s a small step among many to keep our corner beautiful and healthy for our children, and yours too.
Lastly, it helps reduce our carbon footprint. Composting helps capture carbon in the soil and reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Moreover, compost-enriched soil fosters richer microbial biodiversity, which supports healthier and more resilient ecosystems, improving the overall health of plants and animals in the environment.
